In 1997 my family and I made the decision to move to Cape Coral and it is one decision that I have never regretted. My sons were at the time 10 and 11 years old, and to us it made sense to move to the more relaxed coast of Florida.
Having sailed from Europe and being avid sailors during the previous 10 -11 years, our quest for a house with direct gulf access was a success when we found our home in Cape Coral on a canal with 200 ft of width and with enough water depth to accommodate our Vancouver 36 “JOMARY”. The boys have grown in an environment which kept them involved in activities such as Sailing, Fishing, Kayaking, even hunting.
You must think we are spoiled, and yes, we are. I can’t think of a better place to live full time, other than my home in Cape Coral. While others visit our beaches and spend a small fortune to travel once a year, we can drive or take our boat there whenever we feel like it. It doesn’t get any better.
I consider myself an expert in waterfront homes, having traveled each and every canal in Cape Coral, and many waterways in Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, and Pine Island while doing depth soundings for the University of Florida, valuable data which is now available to you when searching for waterfront homes.
